Today marks the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women Day.

It’s the day set aside to remember the victims of the l’ecole Polytechnique in Montreal Massacre that took the lives of 14 women and injured 13 others 32 years ago on December 6th 1989.

Prime Minister Trudeau released a statement today saying he invites Canadians to reflect on what they can do through words and actions to end gender based violence and foster a society where women, girls and gender diverse people feel safe, respected and can reach their full potential.
