Ontario Announces $10,000 Grant for Businesses Closed in Step 2 of Roadmap

Also announced is a reduced hydro rate of 8.2 cents per kilowatt-hour for 21 days starting January 18th running 24 hours per day.

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson announced that the Provincial Government is set to offer relief to eligible businesses subject to closure under the modified Step 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen.

The $10,000 Small Business Support Grant is available to such businesses including but not limited to restaurants and bars, facilities for indoor sports and rec fitness activities, performing arts and cinemas, museums, galleries, historical sites and similar attractions.

The portal for applications is expected to open in the comings weeks Thompson said in the release.

Also announced for the Province is an electricity-rate relief that will see hydro prices locked at 8.2 cents per kilowatt-hour 24 hours a day and for 21 days starting January 18th at 12:01 am.

The rate reduction applies to residential, small business and farms who pay regulated rates set by the Ontario Energy Board and get a bill from utility. It will benefit both Time-Of-Use and Tiered rate plans.
