Bruce County Council took the time today to issue a statement thanking Long Term Care Workers and Essential Caregivers, residents and their family members for their resilience, efforts and patience during the latest surge of Covid-19 and resulting restrictions.

They say the group is doing very important work in the community caring for our vulnerable residents. Their efforts ensure County homes in Walkerton and Wiarton are safe environments where residents can live with dignity, security and comfort.

Bruce County is supporting these essential workers by re-deploying County staff from other departments to assist. They add that Brucelea Haven in Walkerton and Gateway Haven in Wiarton remain fully compliant with the Long Term Care Homes Act and all associated regulations.

The homes currently under the Essential Caregiver Program but are assisting with virtual visiting opportunities.
