Now that many recreational facilities in Ontario are open for indoor activities, the discussion in Goderich has been around what to do with the Memorial Arena.

A recreational needs assessment was recently conducted for the Town.

Mayor John Grace says there has been talk about a second ice pad in Goderich since the Town removed the ice plant at the arena in 2018.

But he says there isn’t much appetite for another rink at this time.

Grace says he envisions the arena to be repurposed for other sports like soccer.

He says the arena can also be used at a venue for public assembly.
