A man is facing charges after getting caught with what turned out to be a stolen snowmobile.
A Huron County OPP officer was on patrol around 9:30 Monday night when he recognized a snowmobile parked in a suspicious manner outside a gas station in Wingham.
A check of the snowmobile revealed that it had been reported stolen in Saugeen Shores.
The driver immediately fled on foot when approached by the officer.
A chase ensued and the suspect allegedly avoided capture before being apprehended at a nearby backyard.
The 44-year-old of no-fixed-address is being held until his next court appearance scheduled for Thursday.
