Bruce County Council, during their meeting last Thursday, referred a Notice of Motion regarding the housing crisis to the Human Services Committee meeting on February 17th.

The motion refers to the perceived housing crisis in the area and the lack of affordable and attainable housing and the impact it can have on attracting and retaining workers in the retail, hospitality, small scale manufacturing and, agriculture and health care sectors.

The Motion would ask Council to direct staff to prepare a report on how to increase rental opportunities for low to moderate income families, how to attract new supportive housing options and how to expand partnerships between Bruce County Housing Corporation and the private and not-for-profit sectors.
