The Bluewater District School Board said they aim to invest in a 1 to 1 laptop to secondary student ratio for schools in the board.

The move they say is to further support online learning, a greater need for technology amount families and a new secondary online credit requirement.

The board is phasing in the distribution of laptops for all grade 9 to 12 students.

It is set to begin February 14th.

Keith Lefebrvre Superintendent of Education at the board says many education and career opportunities require students to possess technology skills that are gained through managing a personal device.
