Lisa Thompson MPP for Huron-Bruce was in Teeswater today to announce the Province’s support in South Bruce with a $1.5 million dollar investment. The funds will specifically go towards the Municipality’s $8.7 million dollar project to expand the Teeswater Formosa Wastewater Plant.

Thompson said of the funding that the economic initiative will help strengthen domestic manufacturing, create jobs and attract investment that will serve as a boost for regional economic growth.

The issue of wastewater capacity at the Teeswater Formosa Facility was brought up in a Veolia Water Report prepared for South Bruce back in March of 2021.

The recommendations from the report said that due to ongoing fluctuations in plant loading, the Municipality was  recommended to either reduce the strength of the incoming waste or make improvements to the current plant to increase it’s capacity.
