Need Exchange HQ Reopening in Owen Sound March 14th

The Program provides free and confidential services, based on the principle of harm reduction. There are 16 locations through Grey-Bruce.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit announced that the GB Works Needle Syringe Program site at it’s Owen Sound headquarters will be reopening March 14, 2022.

Public Health operates the site at 101 17th Street East throughout much of the pandemic but was forced to close it in December as the Region experienced a surge in Covid-19 cases.

The number of visits or interactions, to the program climbed by 25 percent from 2020 to 2021 with 3901 interactions growing to 4864 in 2021.

The number of needles returned at all sites rose by nine percent, from 49,025 to 53,421.

The needle syringe program provides free and confidential services, based on the principle of harm reduction.
