The OPP West Region took to social media this afternoon to announce that thanks to the Walkerton Fire Department and South Bruce OPP holding a Hockey Fundraiser on Family Day the Saugeen Hospice would be seeing a donation of over $2100.
The event titled the “Battle of the Badges” saw more than 300 people in attendance as the two teams of front line responders battled it out on the ice.
The Saugeen Hospice thanked organizers Constable Mike Scott from the OPP and Walkerton Fire Department Captian James Lang for putting the event together as well as all the people involved.
The Saugeen Hospice is raising money to make a Hospice for South Bruce and Grey County a reality. The land has already been donated by the Municipality of Brockton.
