The organizer of the Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games is looking to raise money to help a Kincardine family bring their relatives from the Ukraine here.

Tony Doherty has set up a GoFundMe account for Michael and Anastasia Hardwick.

Anastasia’s mother and father escaped the Russian invasion of Ukraine and are now living in Poland.

Her sister-in-law and niece are in Prague but her brother remains in the country.

Doherty says the money raised will help cover travel expenses in bringing all of Anastasiia’s family members to Canada.

Doherty says he is hoping to raise $5,000.

As of 7 PM Friday night, $2,895 has been raised.
