The Town of Goderich welcomed their first ship at the docks in 2022.
And for the second year in a row, the Algoma captained by Kirk Lake was the first to arrive at the Port of Goderich Wednesday morning at 12:35.
Captain Lake was joined by Mayor John Grace and Deputy Mayor Myles Murdock for the traditional Top Hat ceremony.
Grace says they were finally able to have it inside the Town Hall.
Grace says the last couple of years, the ceremony was done at the port next to the ship but it just wasn’t the same.
He says the Top hat ceremony is a tradition that has lasted for over 90 years.
