The Saugeen Shores Men’s and Ladies’ Slo-Pitch Leagues are making a donation towards Phase Two of the Lamont Sports Park project.
They have donated a total of $50,000 as part of the Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign.
In exchange, the two leagues will get naming rights for the next 20 years.
In a news release, this is the fourth significant contribution made in the past month following major donations by Bruce Power, the Lion’s Club of Port Elgin and the Saugeen Shores Rotary Club.
Co-chair Rob Stanley says this latest contribution brings them one step closer to the construction of two youth baseball fields.
He says the committee will be making further announcements on private donations before launching the public campaign on June 4th.
