Huron Museum offering Tip of the Hat to Historical Hat Makers in Huron on Saturday

Event will use artifacts and photographs from museum's collection to highlight how different hats from the Victoria era through the 20th century were made and discuss the little known history of local hat makers in Huron.

The Huron County Museum & Historic Gaol will offer a tip of the hat to the history and art of constructing hats at an event on Saturday entitled “Hats Off to Huron’s Historical Hats”.

The event on May 7th starts at 1pm and is hosted by Jennifer Triemstra-Johnston. She is a professional costume designer and hat maker.

She will use artifacts and photographs from the museum’s collection to highlight how different hats from the Victoria era through the 20th century were made and discuss the little known history of local hat makers in Huron.
