The Women’s House Serving Bruce & Grey say the men of Grey and Bruce Counties once again were invited to put on a pair of women’s heels for charity. They joined in the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign to speak out against rape, sexual assault, and gender-based violence.
There were two events held this year; one was on Saturday, May 28th in Kincardine and the second on Sunday, May 29th in Porth Elgin. The events saw nearly 30 men in total do a one-mile walk down the main streets of either Kincardine or Port Elgin. The event in Kincardine brought in $5,5000 and Port Elgin almost $7,000 all in support for Women’s House.
In true Bruce & Grey County Fashion, the Kincardine Scottish Pipers led the way, followed by the red-heeled men carrying placards and messages of support.
