The Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce announced today that the Saugeen Shores Trolley Tourism attraction will not operate for the 2022 season. They add that the difficult decision was reached after a thorough review.
President of the Chamber Michelle Kay-Scott said that while it is disappointing for the Chamber and some members of the community, they will continue to explore options that could see it return to service.
Also mentioned as causes of cancellation were changes in policies, operating costs and partnership resources following the pandemic. The Chamber advised that they need to be addressed before the Trolley can return.
The Saugeen Shores Trolley in previous years has made tours between Port Elgin and Southampton. Riders had the opportunity to explore stops along the route that featured beautiful scenes, downtown shops and other significant locations in Saugeen Shores.
