If you have recently visited downtown Clinton you may have noticed a special project that is meant to honour the life and work of Sandra Garnet, who founded the and ran the Made in Huron Artisan Market.

In it’s over 25 years of running it has grown to feature over 40 vendors.

The shop was closed temporarily after Garnet passed away in April but it has since reopened.

In addition to that she served as the Chair of the Central Huron BIA.

The new project downtown is aimed at getting a flowerpot at every business in Clinton and it was one that she had started planning last fall.

Students from the technology classes at CHSS assembled the pots and planted the flowers.

Students then also delivered the almost 50 planters right to the front door of the businesses in Clinton.

A dedication ceremony for the planters will be done at the Mayor’s Mingle on June 27th.

You can find out more about the event at the Central Huron Facebook page.
