Local Technology Teacher Set to Retire and Wins Skills Ontario Award

A local Kincardine high school teacher who is set to retire at the end of June has been also announced as the winner of a teaching award.

Bryan Derksen of Kincardine has won the Dick Hopkins Memorial Award.

The award by Skills Ontario is a provincial recognition of excellence, initiated by the Ontario Council for Technology Education to recognize outstanding technical education.

Derksen is finishing a 31 year teaching career.
