The long journey of Alex Rauket on his Kilometers for Kids fundraising bike ride from the Port Elgin Masonic Centre to the Montreal Shriner’s Hospital came to an end yesterday.
The journey that took him over 850 km over 8 days also raised an amazing amount of money for the hospital.
The goal at the start of the ride was 25 thousand dollars but with the generosity of the community along the way he was able to smash that goal reaching 61 thousand dollars.
Alex presented the cheque yesterday but donations continue to come in so they expect this number to increase. Alex says the welcome at the hospital was incredible. Alex says he still hasn’t found the words to scribe the emotions he had arriving in Montreal.
