The municipality of Kincardine will be taking steps to improve safety along Bruce Avenue after receiving a petition with over 200 signatures at last night’s committee of the whole meeting.
Residents who supported the petition were concerned by the lack of crosswalks, saying there was no safe way for children to access to the sports fields and dog park along Bruce Avenue.
Council and staff agreed that safety concerns along the road should be addressed and approved painting a crosswalk and erecting signs as a temporary measure while they evaluate the matter.
