Port Elgin Paralympian Josh Cassidy will be one of the flagbearers for Canada at the opening ceremonies for upcoming Commonwealth Games in England.
Cassidy is one of the nation’s most successful wheelchair racers. A 3-time Paralympian, Cassidy won a bronze medal in the 1500m at the 2010 Commonwealth games.
Cassidy says it’s going to take some time to sink in, acknowledging what an honour it is to carry Canada’s flag.
He’ll be sharing the honour with Olympic weightlifter Maude Charron.
The opening ceremonies take place on July 28.
