Driver hit with impaired charges after colliding with parked car in Goderich

The driver failed to provide breath samples and was charged with Operation While Impaired, Failure to Comply with Demand, and Dangerous Operation

Huron County OPP has charged a Thames Centre resident with several driving related charges following a collision with a parked car in Goderich this past weekend.

At approximately 10:53 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, an officer was patrolling on Blake Street East when he observed a compact car collide head-on with a parked vehicle.

The driver was not injured in the crash. OPP say while speaking with the driver the investigating officer noticed signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for further testing.

The driver failed to provide breath samples to the Intoxilizer Technician and was charged with Operation While Impaired, Failure to Comply with Demand, and Dangerous Operation.

The accused was later released with a court appearance scheduled for August 29 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
