The Multicultural Association of Perth-Huron dropped by the Shoreline Classics studio today to offer an update on how the recent barbeque in the park went to welcome refugees from the Ukraine to the area. Event organizer Lydia Ritchie says the community was very generous in their donating.

“We were able to raise over $4,000 to help settle people so it was amazing. We did some great networking for some families around. It was beyond our expectations.”

The event on July 17th featured in addition to food also offered up some traditional Ukrainian music. The Lions Club of Kincardine offered their assistance preparing the food.

The Multicultural Association of Perth-Huron is now in the works organizing an upcoming food event featuring a Ukrainian chef. Keep watching social media such as their Facebook page for updates.
