The Huron County OPP say it was all hugs & smiles and lights sirens today as the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run made a long-awaited return to Huron County after a 3-year pause.
Torch Run Coordinator & Huron County OPP Sergeant Russ Nesbitt says that the athletes were super excited, and their enthusiasm shone through all day.
About 50 local Special Olympians, Coaches, and supporters participated.
The “Flame of Hope” was lit early Thursday morning in Wingham and burned strong through the communities of Clinton, Blyth and Goderich.
Once the athletes completed the run they were treated to a celebration BBQ hosted by McGee Motors in Goderich.
