The Huron-Bruce Kidney Walk takes place this Sunday, raising funds for kidney disease research.
Organizer Cathy Pennington says the local walk has undergone a re-branding since it began in 2016 as the Goderich Kidney Walk. Now the goal is to support even more families in the area with the 5km walk beginning at Station Beach at 10 a.m.
Over $10,000 has been raised for this year’s walk by the group Christopher’s Crew, which was started in 2015 by Pennington’s son who suffers from kidney disease.
Christopher’s Crew is hoping to raise $15,000 this year, which would push them over $100,000 raised for kidney research since their journey began.
