Regardless of provincial legislation, CUPE says it intends to go forward on the picket lines across Ontario on Friday.
As locally across the Bluewater District School Board and the Bruce Grey Catholic Disctrict School Board, some schools locally will attempt to stay open during the labour unrest while others intend to close. BWDSB says if the strike happens they will be cancelling extracurricular activities. The Catholic Board says that they will close elementary & secondary schools in their area during the CUPE withdrawl of service.
On Friday morning its expected CUPE workers to be on the picket line with a focus on MPP offices in certain ridings.
Locally it expected that workers will be at both MPP Lisa Thompson’s Kincardine & Blyth Constituency offices.
