Local Bruce & Grey County Students take part in GIS Day on November 16th

Bruce County shared word of Grade 7 & 8 students across Bruce & Grey Counties who recently competed in a GIS Day contest on November 16th sponsored by Esri Canada & Bruce Power.

3 finalists were recognized for their outstanding work in solving real-world, local geography issues using the GIS platform.

Over 420 students and 17 classrooms at 9 schools, 5 in the Bluewater District and 4 in the Bruce-Grey Catholic Board systems worked in teams to collectively submit 98 story maps for judging.

1st place went to Bruce & Grey County with Cash Masse & Ewan Dennison. 2nd went to Saugeen Shores with Johnny Ballard & Ben Charbonneau and 3rd to Olivia Abbot, Tatum Schmitt & Beckett Haugh.
