January is Crime Stoppers Month, a chance for the community organization to celebrate the collaboration that helped recover over $150,000 in stolen property in Grey Bruce last year.

According to a release, local Crime Stoppers received over 600 tips in 2022, leading to the arrests of over 30 people and 145 charges being laid.

Since Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce started in 1987, they’ve helped clear over 16,000 cases that resulted in nearly 1,700 arrests and more than $4.1 million worth of property recovered.

The organization has also had more than $270,000 in rewards approved for tips from community members.

This year’s theme for Crime Stoppers month is “Stand Up, Stand Together.”
