Alice Munro Festival opens Short Story Contest ahead of 2023 Festival of the Short Story

The contest is open to both youth writers up to the age of 19 and Adult writers 19 years and older. There is an adult 1st prize of $1,500 and youth 1st prize of $500 up for grabs.

The organizers of the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story say they are getting ready for another great event in 2023.

Up first is the Short Story Contest which is on until March 15th.

The contest is open to both youth writers up to the age of 19 and Adult writers 19 years and older.

There is an adult 1st prize of $1,500 and youth 1st prize of $500 up for grabs.

The winning entry will be a Canadian work of up to 2,500 words in the English language, fiction, and written by an author not yet published in book format.

The winners will be announced at the 2023 Festival set for June 2nd to 4th.
