The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority issued a statement cautioning that higher-than-normal water levels are likely across the watershed over the next few days.

Along with today’s forecast for heavy rain, unseasonably warm temperatures will accelerate the melting of the remaining snowpack.

They say significant flooding is not expected, but minor flooding could occur in low-lying areas.

More extensive flooding is possible, should the region receive rainfall amounts greater than what is currently forecast.

The flood outlook remains in place until Monday, Feb. 13.
