Construction begins on Long-Term Care Home in Goderich

Paul Calandra, Minister of Long-Term Care says there are also facilities planned for Exeter and Morris-Turnberry. The Goderich facility is expected to be completed by early 2025.

Construction is underway in Goderich on a new long-term care home in Huron County.

The project is part of a $6.4 billion dollar commitment to build more than 30,000 new beds by 2028 and upgrade 28,000 long-term care beds across the Province.

Paul Calandra, Minister of Long-Term Care gave congratulations to Southbridge Goderich on their ground-breaking for the new home.

He added that four are in the planning stages in Huron County and today is a significant milestone as construction begins on the first.

It will house 160 residents; 69 new beds and 91 upgraded. It is expected to be completed by early 2025.

Other sites set for long-term care homes include Exeter and Morris-Turnberry. All together it will see 181 new beds and 363 upgraded.
