Ontario releases 2023 Budget entitled “Building a Strong Ontario”

The Provincial Government has released their 2023 Budget entitled “Building a Strong Ontario”.

In it the government plans to take significant action to drive growth by lowering costs, getting key infrastructure projects built faster and attracting more job and investments to help businesses, families and workers.

Highlights include $14.7 million in a Collaborative Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the U of G and Lakehead, a new Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit, attracting $16 billion in investment by global automakers & suppliers of EV batteries and materials in Ontario.

The budget also includes $224 million for a new capital stream of the Skills Development Fund to expand training centres, including union training halls to provide more accessible, flexible training opportunities for skilled workers.
