Saugeen Conservation extends Water Safety Statement

With 15 to 30 mm of rain is forecast for Friday it will mean water levels remain high throughout most of the watershed following last week’s rain and snowmelt.

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority has extended its water safety statement issued on March 25th due to forecast rainfall and warmer temperatures forecast.

They advise caution around watercourses.

With 15 to 30 mm of rain is forecast for Friday it will mean water levels remain high throughout most of the watershed following last week’s rain and snowmelt.

Significant flooding is not expect, although minor may be possible in low-lying areas.

Fast flowing waters, breaking and moving ice and slipper stream banks will also create hazardous conditions.

The statement is to remain in effect until Tuesday, April 4th.
