Huron County council is moving forward with the construction of a paramedic service space at the Brussels Fire Hall.

Before the start of the pandemic, paramedic crews in Brussels were stationed at Huronlea Home for the Aged but due to the risk of spreading COVID-19 with the senior population, the paramedics moved to the fire hall.

In September 2021, council gave staff direction to move forward with the expansion at the fire hall as it was seen the temporary move would be better to be permanent and after changes in senior management and leadership delays, the project will continue to go ahead.

The cost of the project has only been based on initial drawings which suggested to be between $900,000-1,000,000
