Saugeen Shores Police see suspect who damaged Police Cruiser in Incident Last Year Caught and Charged

They have been charged with flight from police, dangerous operation, 2 counts of assault with a weapon and operation while prohibited.

The Saugeen Shores Police have updated that the suspect in an incident last August that resulted in a cruiser being damaged and the flight from police has been arrested and charged.

The incident occurred on August 27th, 2022 at around 8:10 pm when they attempted to stop a vehicle on Goderich Street.

The driver exited and spoke with officers.

At that time the passenger of the vehicle slid into the driver’s seat, put the vehicle in reverse and collided with the parked police car.

It then sped off at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at several stop signs.

Due to the dangerous driving at the time and risk to public safety, a pursuit was not initiated.

They were later identified, located and arrested.

They have been charged with flight from police, dangerous operation, 2 counts of assault with a weapon and operation while prohibited.

They have been released on a $250 bail deposit and a 10pm curfew.
