The United Way of Bruce Grey shared word of its Thank an Educator Campaign.
It sees a donation of $20 go to sponsor a fully stocked backpack in honour of a teacher, education assistant or early childhood worker and support their Backpack Program.
It has successfully reduced classroom bullying by ensuring every child, regardless of their family’s financial situation, begins school with the essential supplies they need to flourish.
Over the past 18 years, the program has distributed over 32,000 backpacks to low-income students in Bruce and Grey.
You can purchase a Thank an Educator certificate online or by dropping by the United Way Office in Owen Sound.
They can be notified via email or print it and deliver it yourself in person.
