Bruce Power advised that no adverse impact was seen to employees, the environment, or the public from a heavy water leak from its Unit 4 heat transport system back on April 24th.
Operation staff followed procedure and safely removed the unit from service and then took action to have the spill stopped and safely cleaned up.
Testing of airborne radiological emissions confirmed that no regulatory limits were reached or exceeded.
Unit 4 was returned to service April 30th after the investigation to the cause was completed and a number of corrective action steps were taken.
