Saugeen Shores revises plan for Phase 2 of Lamont Sports Park due to Cost Concerns

Items removed include poles for security cameras and removal of a concrete slab for a future pavilion. This reduced the budget by nearly $700,000.

The Town of Saugeen Shores has revised its plans for the Second Phase of the Lamont Sports Park due to cost concerns.

Council received a report at its recent council meeting that outlined the various elements and the associated costs of the $4.2 million dollar project.

The budget was previously approved last December and as a result of the 2 tenders received seeing the lowest at $4.5 million Council recommended removing a number of items.

They include poles for security cameras and removal of a concrete slab for a future pavilion.

This reduced the budget by nearly $700,000.

Removal of the second phase washroom building was also considered but was not removed due to their currently being portapotties on the site.
