The Municipality of West Grey is set to hear from a delegation on the topic of Renewable Energy in West Grey at tomorrow morning’s Council Meeting at 9am.
Bogdan Dinu and Grant Johns will be speaking from Shift Solar in efforts to get support for their energy storage project.
It would a 100-megawatt battery energy storage facility setup with a 4-hour storage capacity.
The facility would sit on 40 acres of land just south of Hanover. The plant would see power stored when demand is lowest and released when customer demand increases.
The site would contain batteries, inverters, medium voltage transformers, buried collector & communication cabling, a small transmission sub-station and possible garage & operation maintenance buildings.
More details on the proposed project are available in the West Grey Council Agenda Package.
