Georgian College partners with School Boards to inspire Careers in EV Automotive

$500,000 grant will create immersive learning using augmented and virtual reality to educate Bruce-Grey Catholic & Simcoe Board students on careers in the industry.

Georgian College, in partnership with both the Simcoe County  and Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Boards, is inspiring a new generation to building careers in the emerging automotive electrification industry thanks to a $500,000 grant from Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network’s Regional Future Workforce Program.

More than 1,000 students are set to take part in immersive learning using augmented and virtual reality to learn the basic principles of EV operations, benefits and challenges of EV’s and the various careers possible.

Starting this fall at Georgian, up to 200 post-secondary and 1,000 grade 10 to 12 students across both regions will have a chance to gain awareness and knowledge about the sector.
