The Saugeen Shores Police have been undertaking speed enforcement on Beach Street in Southampton recently due to concerns from local residents.

They advise that all roads there and in Port Elgin are 40 km per hour unless otherwise posted.

Police would love to be on every street, at every hour, but they only have so many officers working at any given time, and they must respond to calls for service & conduct follow-up in investigations.

They will do their best with the resources they have.

They ask residents to do their part and reduce their speeds when traveling within the town.
