The Muncipality of Kincardine has approved a draft-plan of subdivision and zoning by-law amendment for a residential development adjacent to Inverhuron Provincial Park.
The proposed sub-division would see the 4.1 hectare property developed into 12 residential lots, with up-to 81 units, in a combination of single-detached, semi’s and mixed used development.
The draft-plan and zoning by-laws was approved with Ward 2 Councillor Bill Stewart voting against it said he couldn’t support the intensification it would bring to the area.
“I am not against development. I would like to see Estate Development being there. 81 units in 4.15 hectares is a little intense.”
The Municipality received concerns from residents on the capacity of municipal services to accommodate the proposed development.
A Functional Services Report was prepared that indicated that existing capacity in both water & wastewater would be able to accommodate the new homes.
