Southampton Rotary raised $5,890 for Chamber at Fireworks Display on Canada Day

Donations were taken at key entrances to the beach, with 16 dedicated volunteers to ensure the Canada Day Celebrations remain a cherished tradition in Southampton.

The Rotary Club of Southampton extended their gratitude to the generous community members & visitors who made the annual Canada Day Fireworks Display a resounding success.

Through their contributions, the Southampton Rotarians and their friends were able to raise a remarkable $5,890 to help fund the cost of the fireworks.

Donations were taken at key entrances to the beach, with 16 dedicated volunteers donning fluorescent jackets and collecting tins and venturing into the vast crowds, seeking donations on behalf of the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce.

The Rotary Club presented the cheque to Executive Director of the Saugeen Shores Chamber, Christine Mitchell on Thursday.

Mitchell says the significant contribution will go a long way in ensuring that the Canada Day Celebrations remain a cherished tradition in Southampton.
