The Town of Goderich Council will be recognizing and highlighting the achievements and vibrancy of its local youth by awarding its Youth Recognition Awards.
The purpose of the program is to promote a positive image of youth and to generate awareness of the valuable contributions they make to the community.
A youth must be resident in the town or be a dependent of a resident and must be between the ages of 12 to 19 as of July 31st.
Nominations can come from teachers, friends, social or community workers and more.
The recipients will be selected by a committee compromising of the Mayor, one Council Member and the Clerk.
The award highlights youth who act as leaders & role models in the community, volunteer their time to help others and demonstrate teamwork and community involvement.
The recipient also receives $300 award amount.
The deadline for entries is Tuesday, August 1st by 4pm.
