Redevelopment of Southampton Care Centre to bring New & Upgraded LTC Beds to Area

There was an event held recently in Southampton to signify that construction is underway for the redevelopment of the Southampton Care Centre in the community.

The project is a part of the Province’s $6.4 billion dollar commitment to built more than 30,000 new beds by 2028 and upgrade 28,000 across Ontario.

The new 160-bed home in Southampton will be built on the existing site

The new building will feature design improvements, larger residential common areas and air conditions throughout.

The project is expected to be completed by the spring of 2026.

In addition to that Ontario is building another long-term care home in Kincardine.

Both projects will provide Bruce County with 76 new LTC beds and upgrade a further 212.
