Township of Chatsworth Council are expecting to receive a Resolution by Councillor Peter Whitten at tomorrow’s council meeting on a policy on large gatherings.
The Councillor says there have been concerns about gatherings on private property that impact neighbouring properties due to noise, and have a potential for other safety concerns & liabilities for the Municipality.
He wants to direct staff to prepare a Special Events policy to regulate gatherings on both public & private properties over 500 people.
It would also require a site plan submitted, consultation with the OPP and Emergency Services as well as Township Staff.
A certification of insurance with Chatsworth named as additional insured would also be required.
