Incident at Station Beach Saturday morning claims life of 66-Year-old & Sends 7-year-old to Hospital

The South Bruce OPP were called to a fatal marine incident on Lake Huron in Kincardine where a 66-year-old male was pronounced deceased and a 7-year-old boy was rescued from the water by the public.

Officers were called to reports of an unresponsible person around 11:17 am Saturday with the OPP Marine Unit, Kincardine Fire & Bruce County EMS arriving on-scene at both the north & south pier of Station Beach.

The 7-year-old was transported to local hospital in stable condition where he is expected to recover.

The 66-year-old was pulled from the water but was unresponsible.

Lifesaving efforts were initiated before being transported to hospital, but they were later pronounced deceased.

The incident is considered non-suspicious in nature, with police withholding the identities of the two individuals out of respect of the family.
