They advise posts are fake, account is fake, there is no job, and cheque will bounce leaving you out the money you paid for the gift cards.

Saugeen Shores Police are advising of a new scam that is hitting the “buy and sell” area of Facebook.

The posts are ones offering immediate job opportunities, where they ask you to private message them.

In some instances, they may even send you a work contact to fill out, and even put you through a full online interview.

They will send you a fake “e-check” worth around $1,000 before even starting the fake work. They will then ask you to depos it, and then go and purchase gift cards.

They will then be pushy about how fast you can go purchase them to send back to them.

The posts are fake, the account is fake, there is no job, and the cheque will bounce leaving you out the money you paid for the gift cards.
