Goderich honours Former Mayor Deb Shewfelt on Long-Term Service to the Community

A plaque was unveiled in the courtyard in front of townhall in cognition of his 3 decades of service to the community.

The Town of Goderich honoured former Mayor Deb Shewfelt at its most recent Council Meeting.

He has served on Town Council, County Council, as Mayor and as Warden in a political career that has spanned 3 decades.

A representative for MPP for Huron-Bruce Lisa Thompson, who brought her thoughts on Deb.

“This is such a special day to recognize a remarkable individual who has dedicated so much time, and commitment to the community over the years. The Town of Goderich and the surrounding area are so luck to have you as part of their community.”

Huron County Warden and ACW Mayor Glen McNeil spoke to the strengths of Shewfelts character.

“You started at a young age. Deb, you’ve never had to be x-rayed to show you have a spine. And you have took on many initiatives in your public service career for the benefit of this town, for this County and our Country.”

A plaque was unveiled in the courtyard in front of townhall in recognition of his long public service career that has included many Committees & Boards, extensive contributions that have shaped the community as it stands today.
