The Town of Hanover received the 2022 Annual Report on the Hanover Police Service at its most recent Council Meeting.

Highlights include a breakdown of their over 5200 calls for service. This represents a 14 percent increase over the year before.

The analysis of the numbers show that drug & substance misuse, mental health, intimate partner violence and property crime were the most significant issues.

Police were one of the first responders called into service on May 19th, 2022 when a downtown Hanover rooming house and adjacent business were destroyed by fire.

It was first detected by Officers on Patrol who contacted Hanover Fire.

Policing faced financial challenges in 2022 with a budget increase of 3.9%.
